A document quotation should explain both the professional work being purchased and the expenses needed to carry it out. LexBridge8 separates its Base Service Fee from third-party Actual Costs so clients can understand what the agreed scope covers and what depends on the specific case.
Who this guide is for
This article is for overseas clients comparing quotations, family members arranging India-origin documents, and applicants whose case may involve travel, archive work or a professional appearance. For the current service list and published amounts, use Pricing; this guide explains how to read them.
What is the Base Service Fee?
The Base Service Fee pays for LexBridge8’s agreed standard-scope service work, such as assessment, case management, coordination and case-specific handling. The quotation and service agreement identify what is included for the particular document route. It is not a government fee, and payment does not guarantee that an authority will issue or accept a document.
For reference, the published Base Service Fees are Birth Certificate USD 349; Marriage Certificate USD 449; Degree Certificate USD 449; Police Clearance Certificate USD 598; Death Certificate USD 398; Divorce Decree USD 698; Name Change Gazette USD 698; Domicile Certificate USD 398; Legal Heir Certificate USD 698; and Bachelorhood / Single Status Certificate USD 449. NABC is Price on consultation. These base amounts are not a promise of the final all-inclusive case total.
What are Actual Costs?
Actual Costs are third-party expenses actually incurred to perform the agreed work. Depending on the case, they may include government or authority fees; notary, affidavit or stamp-paper charges; apostille or authentication charges; courier; separately required translation; necessary local transportation; field travel or accommodation; and other mandatory third-party expenses.
A possible expense is not automatically a charge. Its need should follow from the agreed work and the case circumstances. LexBridge8’s professional work and any separately engaged professional’s fee must remain identifiable, rather than being hidden inside third-party expenses.
Actual Costs are charged based on the amount actually incurred and are itemised separately. Where formal receipts, invoices, payment confirmations, or other supporting records are issued or available, they may be provided. Where such documentation is not customarily issued, LexBridge8 will provide a reasonable written breakdown of the expense.
No undisclosed markup is added to Actual Costs. Any separate professional or service fee is identified separately from third-party Actual Costs.
How to read a quotation
Look for four distinctions: the Base Service Fee and its Standard Scope; anticipated third-party expenses; any additional professional work already identified; and items that cannot yet be confirmed. An estimate is not the same as an amount already incurred. Ask how an uncertain expense will be confirmed and reported.
For example, an existing digitised certificate may involve a different expense pattern from a manual archive search requiring local travel. This is an illustration of the categories, not an invented price quote. The competent authority sets its own official fees, and the necessary route should be established before costs are treated as fixed.
Complex Case / Required Appearance Professional Handling Fee
From USD 300 additional
This common policy can apply to any LexBridge8 service, not only Bachelorhood. Possible triggers include an SDM route, court-issued route, court appearance, formal hearing, interview, in-person attendance, Advocate or other qualified/authorised professional attendance, materially expanded professional handling beyond Standard Scope, and complex multi-authority coordination.
USD 300 is a starting amount, not a fixed charge for every complex case. The final additional professional fee depends on the complexity, location, number of appearances and work involved. It is quoted and agreed before that additional work begins.
Government fees, court fees, filing fees, travel, courier and other third-party expenses remain separate Actual Costs. Where legal representation or an appearance is required, it is carried out by a separately engaged Advocate or an appropriately qualified or authorised professional. LexBridge8 is not a law firm or court representative.
What happens if the scope or costs change?
If a new requirement creates material additional costs, LexBridge8 should explain the reason and obtain client approval before incurring those additional costs or starting the expanded work. The explanation should separate a change in third-party expenses from a new professional fee. Do not assume that an initial quotation authorises every later expense without discussion.
Where a proposed step is optional or an alternative exists, the client should understand the relevant choice. A genuine authority requirement cannot be removed simply to preserve an earlier estimate; the appropriate response is to explain it and agree how to proceed.
Receipts, records and written breakdowns
A formal receipt is not issued in every local situation. Transparency therefore rests on the amount actually incurred, an itemised account, available supporting documentation and a reasonable written expense breakdown where such documentation is not customarily issued. We do not promise that every expense has a formal receipt.
Keep the quotation, agreed scope and subsequent approvals together. If an entry is unclear, ask what work or expense it represents and whether it is a professional fee or a third-party cost.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Base Service Fee the same as an authority fee?
No. The Base Service Fee is for LexBridge8’s agreed service work. Official authority charges are separate where applicable.
Is the USD 300 additional fee compulsory for every case?
No. It applies where the case requires the relevant additional professional handling. The specific amount and scope must be quoted and agreed.
Are all expenses guaranteed to have receipts?
No. Available documents may be provided; otherwise a reasonable written cost breakdown is provided under the policy explained above.
How do I compare two quotations fairly?
Compare the same document route, Standard Scope, authority expenses, professional appearances, translation, authentication and delivery. A lower base figure alone does not establish a lower final cost.
